Beady Chaos and Extra Links

Whee!  So busy here at the studio.  I have been working all day, every day, all week to get ready for the Bead & Button show.  We leave on Wednesday, so I don't have much time to get it all together.  There are beads everywhere!  I finally brought all my trays and dishes upstairs and have them laid out on the shipping desk to organize.
One of the things I enjoy about the process is how the different steps transition to order, then to chaos, then to order, then chaos again.  I think it appeals to whatever OCD sorts of tendencies that I have... creating order from the chaos.  It can be very satisfying.  The picture at the top is from my kiln this morning, all the same sized charms, all in pewter/bare clay, all neatly lined up.  It was so pretty I took a picture!  Then I piled it all onto a big tray to bring upstairs... chaos again!  I enjoy the part of removing the charms and beads from the wires and organizing them again.  Today, I paired up the link pairs with jump rings.  Look at them all!  I finally am starting to feel like I am the one in charge here, not the beads.
I love these so much.  They look like old newsprint or sepia toned photographs.  I really hope people like these at the show next week.  As I look at the stock I have, I can see that it is almost entirely new work and pretty different from my work 2-3 years ago.  I'm feeling a little nervous about it, as its kind of a big risk.  But I do love what I am making lately.
Time to get back to reigning in the bead chaos!  I have about 2 or 3 kiln firings left and lots more organization.  I will continue with the last 5 days of giveaways this week, so come back and see what I have to offer in the next five days.  And if you are coming to Bead & Button, come say hi to me in booth 1227!  Here are this week's Extra Links:
